Default cattleya mendelli

Hi to all,
I am posting the image of c.mendelli, got this plant from
U.S. on 16.2.2009 it is still looks dehydrated and going remove the flowers today.
I would like to know whether this flower is desirable or not.

I think the flower is lovely, considering it is stressed and dehydrated you should pamper it and wait till next flowering, it should improve greatly!

thank you all,while ago cut the flower spike and top
up the medium with pearlite,shredded tree fern and char coal.

Ya, I agree with everyone else. The color looks really nice and the form will probably get better next bloom. Good luck!
