Sorry to hear that your plant was passed by on this blooming. I understand how disappointing it is...I've not been awarded a whole lot more than I have for plants I've brought in.

In any event, I think it is a stunning specimen and I thank you for sharing it with us. It's a big in my book!

Great Cattleyas..... Unfortunately mine have past their blooming for this year as the season isn't too good. My Vandas are coming on for a second bloom this year which is unlike them

So sorry to hear you got passed by. I am not surprised though. I listen to the judges at our show and they will pass by some of the most amazing catts. I have asked them why and they will often say, "oh that species or hybrid (whatever) has had so many awards before". I think some of them get jaded and think that catts are old fashioned. Well, I think they are my favorite. Good growing and don't give up. Just because some judge didn't award it, that doesn't mean the rest of us aren't impressed! Betty

Thanks everyone. It's funny that this thread is being brought back around. These are from last year, but it is currently filling sheaths....so it will be blooming again soon. It wasn't fed as well this year, so we'll see how many blooms it puts out. It definitely puts on a show, so I look forward to it.
