Oh man! This is the cultivar I bought as a tiny seedling a couple years ago. It hasn't bloomed for me yet, but I'm crossing my fingers as it's maturing a new growth now. It's put up a couple of sheaths before but both have dried up and done nothing. Just a practice run I guess!

You guys are too funny. I can just see Sue "Must have Chocolate Drop.....must have Chocolate Drop...." in her very best zombie voice.

That's not quite how the scene would have looked!

Picture it...Spring Hill 2009...

Sue, Dana and Laura walk through the doors of the orchid show/sale and split off in three directions.

Dana and Laura meet up at Louis Del Favero's table. Dana sees a C Chocolate Drop on Louis's table...loves it...thinks "I'm bringing this home with me!"

Dana sees Sue walk up to the same vendor and start her search. Dana thinks "Great! I don't have to find Sue to show her what I'm getting"...YAY!

The three friends meet as Dana is holding out what she thinks is her new plant so Sue can see it...it is her favorite chid, after all

Sue sees the beautiful C Chocolate Drop, totally zones out, takes the plant out of Dana's hand and hands it to Louis so he can hold on to it till she's done shopping.

Sue walks away very happy while Dana and Laura stand there with their jaws hitting the floor!

There was not even a hint of a tug-of-war for it!

Dana...sorry but that's some funny stuff!

I agree

If somebody asks what my favorite orchid is, I can't come up with an answer...but if somebody asks what my favorite Cattleya is, it's this one for sure!
