Cattleya mossiae in bloom
The flowers on this one opened a few days ago, but due to the excessive fluffiness of the petals, they only reached their full spread today. The blooms are large (just over 6 inches wide) and strongly fragrant. This is an easy one to grow and bloom.

Really nice, Steve! Thanks for sharing.
I've been thinking for a while about "doubling" my Cattleya mossiae collection. Your fotos convinced me to start an active search for another!

Thanks, Bruno! I certainly appreciate your words of encouragement. I might carry my laptop into the sunroom to get my plant to "look" at the pictures of yours for inspiration. :-)
Stitz, this particular plant came from Parkside Orchids (if you're interested in getting one, I see that this one's still listed on their website).
Becky, this plant has to make do with the same temperature requirements that all of my other cattleyas have to contend with: hot, humid and wet summers with lots of indirect light (although they do get about four hours of direct sunlight every morning when they go outside) followed by cool and relatively dry winters (and as much direct sun as nature will allow).
