Broad petals - Cattleya bicolor var. minasgeraisensis
Here's a fine example of this variety with broad petals. Unfortunately the second bud dropped after being severely attacked by a slug, which is now resting in peace in the slug heaven !

That is stunning, I love the colours together, how is it nature no colours clash! any colours of flowers together seems to work. thank you for the great photo.

Man, I was really mad at that slug because this week end our society's orchid show is taking place in comemoration of the 455th aniversary of our city and I was counting on those flowers... No way, I had to kill it!!
