How do I trim Cattleya after bloom
Default How do I trim Cattleya after bloom

I bought 4 cattleya's in bloom and they were large so there were several bulbs which had previous stems cut and all that remained was a dried stem with wrap in emerging from the top of the bulb.
When my blooms died, I cut the flowering stem like the others, just above the bulb.

What if anything else do I need to do? Is this correct?

One of them which has like 7 bulbs has a fresh bulb which appears to have a stem emerging from it.

If pics are needed, I can supply tonight.

Thanks Curtis

Joann,

Here ya go!

Do you see where an old flower spike was and is now dried? I also included a bulb that appears to be spiking.

Linsoo,

Lindsoo, you are welcome. I am glad you enjoyed the photos. I hoped you would. I wouldn't say, I know what I am doing. If it weren't for this board and the
orchid enthusiast, my plants would not look the way they do.

With that in mind, THANK YOU!
