That is wonderful, Mauro. It does look very much like an Encyclia - and a very nice one! How big is the plant?

This genus is really little known, even here in Brazil, despite the showy flowers. Several new species were described just a few years ago and some researchers think more new discoveries will come soon.

Royal, the plant is as big as 12-15". The long rhizome is the problematic characteristic for pot culture. I'll take some shots of the entire plant to post here.

OB is a great place Laura! I too learn and see lots of plants I otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity of seeing!
