Very cool, Steve!
This is one of my favorite plants...and it just gets better each year! It's a lovely flower and the plant itself is great for foliage...it's pretty all the time
I should be posting pics of mine soon, it has 6 spikes getting ready to give a show!

Thanks for the pics, I love this orchid!! I saw one two years ago when I visited an orchid jungle in a greenhouse. I fell in love with it, just too bad it gets so big!

I love these almost as much a tenebrosa.
I never put them together before, but you're right on, Steve. Well done.

It's beautiful Steve! This and tenebrosa are a couple of my favorites. Unfortunately too big for my space.

Thanks all! This is a really cool plant and I think Im gonna try and go orchid hunting (with a little inspiration from our "ghost hunters" in FLA!) and post the pics of all the wild orchids in bloom here right now.

Funny...I just did a search for the pic I posted last year and found that this one is right on schedule, almost to the day!

Very nice Steve. I have often heard this plant referred to as the Nun's Orchid because the flower is supposed to resemble a Nun's habit. The plant itself is also said to resemble a seedling palm tree and I would have to agree.
