Default C. Luteola

This is the same one that was in bloom back in the middle of December and here it is in bloom again.

Very nice! Mine blooms on each new mature growth as well so I get 2-3 bloomings per year. A rewarding plant.

Nice flowers. But it looks like you might be keeping it a bit too wet, it should hold more leaves than that... This is one of those Cattleya species that likes to be on a mount, and in habitat gets a dry spell every year.

On a mount, they can form pretty impressive specimens, with multiple leads blooming at the same time. They do ok in pots for me, but tend to struggle. Bulletproof on cork.

Of course if you listen to me you will no doubt kill your plant immediately, obviously you are blooming it so what do I know...

Thanks everyone, and Rob that's pretty much how it looked when I got it from Ecuagenera...but it also has 2 new growths coming up so I'll just wait and see what happens. The only reason I have it potted in the aliflor was to maybe get some roots growing; it had hardly any when it arrived. Mounted would be my preference so maybe come spring.

mine is in a pot and blooms quite regularly. but mounting them sounds good- these get alot of rambling new growths on them
