Rsc. Artist's Pride

Early spring is the season for some pink colored cattleyas, especially for the "pamela" hybrids.

Rsc. Artist's Pride is a cross of Rsc. Pamela Hetherington ,but it is however not so famous as other pamela's crosses.
I was lucky to find this one at a local nursery last year and bought a division of 3 p-bulbs. I didn't think it would bloom this spring until I noticed flower buds fromed in the sheath several weeks ago. It finally bloomed this weekend and the bloom was quite large, about 8" wide and also emited pleasing fragrance.

I really like the lip on this one. I have one that is very similar and it was bought for those two reasons: fragrance and lip.

I really like it too! The blend of colors is nice, the bit of ruffle on the lip is nice, and if it's frangrant, well, that's even better!

It may not be as famous as some of the other Pamela crosses, but it deserves to be.
