That's really, really nice! I've got 2 young unbloomed clones that I bought at a 2-for sale. The last growth sheaths appear to be blind but the new ones hopefully won't be. They are very strong, thick, and about 3 inches long so far plus one plant has 4 new growths and the other 3. I can't wait.

Hi veekay! That is such a beauty! I have this one also and it was blooming size when I got it a year ago, but no signs of any sheathes. Thanks for reminding me why I got this one.

I love it, too.
The clone, New City, has been popular here for a lot of years. Because it flowers in late winter till early spring, it becomes a good ornament for our Chinese New Year.

I like this plant and I don't know why I don't have it, I will correct that issue when shipping weather gets here.

I've seen something really similar to this beauty. Some how the word moth is in the name. I know it has something to do with moth something or other. It will drive me crazy trying to remember what it is.

Very eloquently put, Don. Couldn't have said it better myself.
There was some form of Chia Lin blooming in a greenhouse here on campus before Christmas. Gorgeous, velvety purple, huge flowers with a fantastic smell. Veekay, you are one lucky person, having this beauty!
