Default pseudobulbs and sheath on Iwanagara

Hi,

This is my first Cattleya type orchid, Iwanagara "apple blossom". The plant gets lots of light (south window_ and I water when it dries out. It has lots of healthy roots and the leaves look good but I have a couple of questions.

It has 3 pseudobulbs that look completely different from the rest. Very round and full. The rest are the usual oblong and slightly wrinkled. Is that to be expected?

I got this plant last year. In late summer it started to grow a sheath (marked "this one") but that's as far as it has gone. Is it a dud or will it take off later? Is there anything I should be doing different?

Maureen

Mine has had a sheath on it for many months, and the buds are just now beginning to emerge. I think the fat pbulbs just indicates it's a happy plant. Mine look the same.
