Default Cattleya labiata 'Pérola Rubra'

This is a famous and very sought for plant (at least here in Brazil!) for its charming, well formed flowers and broad, dark lips. The petals and sepals are lightly sufused of a pinksh lavender. Mine is a piece of the original plant, which was cloned times ago. I grow the clone also, but still prefer the mother plant.

Very nice! Crisp color and really incredible shape! Good score on getting the mama plant!

Technically, the petals and sepals are not pure white, Virgil. They are of a beautiful light rose, which get a little darker over the days.

So was I, Kim, last Tuesday night at our society meeting! An old friend, as soon as he saw this plant, came over with a pocket-knife in hands... I could only think 'Eh, now...'. He calmly started cutting my plant in two halves, pulled one with three flowers off, turned to me and said 'Later you come visit me and you can choose no matter what orchid in my collection!' Gazed I said 'OK, then!' He smiled, gave me a hug and went off with his trophy!! Of course he knew he could do that! I'd have never said 'no' for him!
