Default Cattleya jenmanii 'Serra Negra'

I acquired this a year or so ago. The plant came form an orchid collector in Manaus, Amazonas State. I assumed it was not going to flower this year because it is still adapting to the new growing conditions. But, the new pseudo bulb that grew in my grh came with sheath and decided to give three beautiful flowers.

Mauro, you have the most beautiful cattleyea collection I have ever seen! I doubt anyone can come close to your beauties. You really should have an open house for all of us to come see and smell for ourselves. All I would have to do is sell one of my children to afford the trip. (Notice I didn't say sell any of my chids).
Just kidding about selling one of my children...they are all grown and gone now. Plus they are bigger than I am.
Maybe I could rent out my hubby, he is rather handy to have around. He does windows, too.
And they say loving orchids can be "off the wall" addictive. Now that's just silly!

Wow, nice. I killed mine, or it experience a failure to thrive. How do you culture yours?

Come on over, Kiki! The doors are open for orchid lovers! But, you know, I have to say that my collection is only in the average. Most of my plants are just regular. Right, I grow a few special ones, but just a few.
You know, I can understand your hesitation: kids, or chids? I don't have children, but if I did... well, I don't know... but probably follow your advice! (just kidding!)

All my jenmanii are in sphagnum and clay pots. The general care is the same I give to the other Cattleya Tindo, except that they receive brighter light and maybe a little more hot air than the rest (I keep them high in the greenhouse).

In that matter, can you tell me where you live and when you are planing to leave the house alone for holidays???
I have to say that the grh's door is guarded by a fierce, fierce dragon!!! He lets people get in, but never get out!!!
