Default Bl. Wonder Star

If I were asked to name this plant I would be inclined to call it a B. nodosa sport and I would be wrong because the name is Bl. Wonder Star. The parents are Bl. Morning Glory x B. nodosa. The flowers are much larger than B. nodosa and slightly larger than Bl. Morning Glory. Although it only blooms once per year it is a very easy plant to grow and is also a reliable bloomer. It was registered by H. & R. in 2001 but I have never seen it for sale by any grower.

That is beautiful. Stupid question here... How did you obtain it if you have never seen it from a grower?

Not a stupid question at all. One of my very good friends in my orchid society gave me a division of his plant.

Very nice! Has yours been open for a while? Mine has the same red color as the Morning Glory, but fades to white much faster. Do you see the same color change or is it white the whole time? Just curious. Thanks!

The blooms last for about a months to five weeks. They have been open for about two weeks and they are pure white when they first open.
