The link above shows the flower the second year of blooming of this nice, relatively compact Catt alliance plant. It is a healthy, multigrowth plant. Last year and this, the first flower has began to involute after only about 8 days. It has been in my plant room the whole time so there is no exposure to ethylene, other gases, or changes in light or temperature (plant room is running 78 to 62 right now where the plant is).

This plant is 50% aclandiae, 16% bicolor, 14% labiata, and 12% bowringiana. Looking at each of these species I can see a lot of bowringiana in the flower and this is the only species that looks like it might be short lived.

Does anyone else have experience with flower life with this or similar Catt alliance? Is this all genetic or am I missing something cultural?
