C. granulosa is native of the northeastern coastal areas of Brazil (from Alagoas until Rio Grande do Norte), most of times occupying ecological niches not far from the Atlantic Ocean. It is a bifoliate Cattleya with thick leaves, very similar to Cattleya schofieldiana that occurs far down in the States of Espirito Santo and the south areas of Bahia. The perfumed flowers basic colors are green, yellowish and sort of brownish red, which also combine to produce flowers with several hues enriched many times by darker spots. The plant can be tall, almost one meter (3 feet) in height (the plant in the photo is shorter than the average, not taller than 45cm) . Many flowers do have the ventral sepals forming a characteristic 'Chinese moustache', others don't, like the one posted in the link below.
