How do you divide a cattaleya? I have one that hasn't flowered this year, for reasons known only unto itself! Could be lack of light this year. Change of situation due to house moving. Do they need to be transplanted regularly?

A photo taken last year.

HI Kath, That is a nice flower, Well let me make this simple without giving wrong advice, Assuming the plant has 6 to 8 psedobulbs I like to go back 3 or 4 bulbs from the front lead and cut the plant there , then I repot the division in Bark, If the old medium is ok i will leave the back bulbs in that pot, That is just the way I do it ,others have their own way, You can treat the cut with cinnamon, trim the dead roots, and at this time I clean the plant real well, looking for pest.
