Default Slc. Hsin Buu Lady 'Y.T.' help

Hello All,
I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I have a
Slc. Hsin Buu Lady 'Y.T.' which I got as one of those "baggies" from Lowe's over a year ago. It appears to be healthy but has never bloomed and I'm pretty sure it's not getting enough light. Does anybody else have one of these, or would anybody know any care tips? I am getting a very bright compact fluorescent/5000 K lighting set-up today and was hoping I could induce it to bloom somehow. Thanks in advance for any help!
Dan in Austin

More light might help but some have their own schedule . I would increase the light slowly on it . What size was it in when you got it ? Gin

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply! Here's a picture of it, it's not a great picture but you can tell it's fairly vigorous and bushy...it is in a 4" pot.

If you haven't seen what awaits you when it does flower, here is a link to a well-flowered plant...I think you're going to love it!

Your plant is definitely big enough to bloom in the 4" pot. The new growths should produce a sheath before the growth is complete and then you just wait, and wait, and wait.

Mine is starting to bloom now.

Wow! Ok thanks for the encouragement....I will be sure to post pics as soon as I can. If mine is HALF as beautiful as yours I will be so happy!
I am enjoying the orchid board so much.
Thanks again,
Dan

More good news for you Dan - this hybrid will bloom a couple of times a year if your culture is good.

Wow that's a very beautiful flower and your plant seems very healthy. The Sophronitis and Laelia influence are very visible in this cross. We hope to see blooms from you soon Dan.

I don't think anyone will mind if I move off topic for a second and ask, Rolando, does your avatar have a name?
