Default Beggining of C. Lueddemanniana season

Now is beggining the C. Lueddemanniana blooming season here in Venezuela. I want to share my first 2009 blooming of this cattleya. For those who knows this specie, the plant that I am showing is a cross of two well known clones the coerulea Mariauxi and the Maruja. The Mariauxi comes from the northern coastal region and the Maruja comes from the western region of the country. Two different biotypes with a very outstanding breeding result. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Now this is what the old timers would call an Orchid. Large, frilly, blue or white. Just beautiful. I love it. Cats are my all time favorite.
