Default Cattleyella araguaiensis

This used to be Cattleya araguaiensis and spplinting it to a new genus is a welcome change. The species is native of the central Brazil region, is very small (6.5") and produces fragrant, large flowers (4.5" across) in the summer.

It is worth having it, Tom! The plant is small, the flowers are large and very, very fragrant!

Here's a link with some directions I posted last year, Greenbean (go down the page a little and you'll find it). If you need anything else, just let me know .

Great looking stuff! Are there any other species that are being put into the new genus?

No, Steve, it is a monotypic genus.

Nice! If the flavor chocolate had a flower to represent it (as the flavor vanilla uses the Vanilla flower), this is what I'd imagine it looking like. I could really see this on the front of a gallon of "Breyer's" chocolate ice cream. Beautiful flower, Mauro.
