Default Cattleya leopoldii type

Here's the type of the species. This spike has 22 flowers, but some clones can bear up to 40! The fragrance of so many flowers are amazing!

Some adult leopoldii and also (more often) guttata can give many flowers on a spike, Susanne. But it is not uncommon that some leopoldii produce ony three or four flowers... go figure!

This particular clone is not much high Steve, about 2 feet (without the crown of flowers).

Two feet? That's pretty high. Any orchid with a cluster of flowers such as this would be a welcome to any collection.

I agree that 2 feet is high, Don, but for a leopoldii not that much! As you say, with that crown of flowers it is welcome !
