The Sarasota Orchid Show was last weekend and one of the vendors was Odom's Orchids. Among their plants were wonderful Cattleya maxima - in flower and quite reasonable. Their strain appears to be a mix of the upland form with fewer, darker flowers and the lowland form with paler, more numerous flowers. Lots of vendors have it but I can personally vouch for their plants.
Beautiful flowers, Bob! One of my lowland type maxima is also in bloom now. I personally think the veined lip of the lowland type much more attractive, although the plant is way higher than the upland.
