Default Rhynchorides Memoria Suranaree

Parents of this one are:
Aerides lawrenciae x Rhynchostylis coelestis alba

I've had it for quite some time, came to me in bad shape from my dear friend Ron ( tombstone ) and this is the first time it has bloomed for me. The plant itself doesn't look great but I'll take what I can get

Very nice. I like the Rhyncostylis influence, but I bet the plant looks more like a vanda (and will get big). Good work saving this one.

Susanne, that is very nice. I was just reading that plants with Aerides lawrenciae in them tend to get quite large, Is that true of this one?

Ron's spirit truly does live on, in all the beautiful plants that you have from him! I'm quite sure that you do him proud!

I'm sorry, i don't know Ron, but i do know that your plant isn't looking too bad.I have been given a few plants that are all bent and twisted, yet they give out the most amazing flowers...... I even have one with four keikis growing.

Ron was a good friend and president of our local orchid society when I joined. He passed away a little over a year ago after a long battle with cancer. When he was no longer able to care for his large orchid collection, he gave them away to friends and I am honored to have a large number of his plants in my collection. Whenever one blooms, I think of him

Ooh, i'm sorry. It's never nice to have cancer. At least you have something wonderful to remember him by.

This is the wreath that our club members put together for Ron's memorial service in Nov /07. Many of the blooms are from plants that he placed in our care.

He was a wonderful man and he is truly missed.
