BC Maikai - a "swap plant"
This won a white (third) ribbon at our annual short course last week - my spouse groused "Well, if that's a third, how many flowers did the first-place winner have?" He has a lot to learn about orchid judging!
Still, I got this as a small division at a swap in May, 2007; it must like the conditions, because it has grown like a weed. Pretty nice in flower. Don't knock a free plant!
Enjoy - Nancy

I can hardly beleive that it was a small division in '07 and now it has grown so big and so many flowers. Very, very good growing. Enjoyed seeing the lovely bouquet.

What an inspiration! That plant has done some growing in just over one year! Really beautiful! Congrats on the white ribbon - it certainly looks deserving to me!

OUTRAGEOUS! STUNNING...ABSOLUTELY, STUNNING!
I waited around 2&1/2 yrs. for mine to bloom which it's finally doing, now. 3 spikes, 5 flowers on the largest spike and I was giddy all last week at my discovery. I'd be hyper-ventilating if mine looked like yours.

I'll bet yours is a seedling; a division is already mature - it bloomed the first fall I had it, and pretty wildly.
I put the division on a chunk of grape root, and took a photo about 3 weeks later, with roots literally covering it - so it liked the grape wood and was ready to take off.
The couple who brought it to the swap say theirs hasn't bloomed since the dividing, so it may be just toying with me! You know how they are.
Regards - Nancy
