This one was labelled as Schomburgkia lueddemanii while I purchased it without seeing the flowers several years ago. It bloomed recently and obviously, it is not the real S. lueddemanii. I regard it a cross of Schomburgkia, most likely with cattleya. The p-bulb is tall, about 20-30cm and the elongated spike reaches one meter.
The flowers are waxy and with pleasing fragrance.
It looks kind of like Schombocattleya Louise Fuchs. Here is a link to TOF with a pic of this one: Tropical Orchid Photo Gallery The shape is a bit different, but not overly so.
Jan, it is indeed a problem for us to buy some species orchids. In the past years, I have brought a lot of unexpected home, but luckily, most of them are easy plants and have good flowers.
Thank you, Steve.
Mine looks really like Schombocattleya Louise Fuchs. I will also ask the dealer for further confirmation.
