Yes, it is not much easy to differentiate between the two when they are young (and actually neither when they are adult). The only characteristic that promptly points to C. leopoldii is the presence of three leaves atop the pseudo bulb. The problem is that only some clones present that characteristic. Well, at least, when you see three you know that it is C. leopoldi. For the rest both species are very similar
