Default B. maikai

I've had this plant for about 2 & 1/2 yrs. and I've never seen any blooms. It's doubled in size, have it growing in a 5" pot, potted in straight Hydroton.

I can't believe what I just discovered and wanted to share my excitement with you all. I've also noticed 3 more infloresence growing.

Way to go, Sandy!

This is a lovely chid

The correct name is now:

Brassanthe Maikai
(Brassavola nodosa x Guarianthe bowringiana)

but was previously known as Bc. Maikai

Nice! Your gonna love this one. Small colorful flowers, but I cant remember if there is any scent. Mine just finished up and it lasted for several (3-4?) weeks.

Guarianthe bowringiana is just the new name for Cattleya bowringiana.

I just wanted to let you know the name on yours should be Bc. Maikai...I can change the title in the thread if you'd like

Congratulations!!! I have mine Maikai 'Mayumi' in bloom right now, 2 spikes with 9 blooms total. It has a slight fragrance which I detected a week or so after the blooms opened.

Sure Sue. Thank You.

Started blooming a couple of days ago. The colors are beginning to get more intense and so far, no scent.
