I've searched for an Oerstedella Costa Rica for years with no luck. This is a pretty good substitute I think! Actually, I'm thrilled I got it to bloom in the first place . So far, no scent, but I do like the waxy texture and overall coloration. The plant itself is about 12 inches high from bottom of pbulb to top. The blooms are right at an inch accross.
Tiki George...this one is fantastic...I just love those spots!
You've done very well with this beauty, and the photos are great too. Thanks for sharing with us.
I was looking it up to see if it would grow well for me...it will, so I'm adding this to my species wish list! By the way, it is now accepted as Epidendrum wallisii, so you may want to update your tag.

Thanks David! I have to say that the flash kinda threw the colors off a little. It's not that yellow; more of a yellow green. That could change however!
It's always interesting to note how this plant was once known as an Epidendrum before it was Oerstedella. No matter, I always keep the name that was on the tag. Besides, I've already nicknamed her Della!
I am lokking for costa rica also but where did you get your wallisii nice plant
Greg
Hey Greg! I got the plant from Tropical Orchid Farm and I highly recommend them. By the way, it now has 3 open blooms including the first one(!) with 3 more buds developing AND more about to erupt from the sides of the upper half of the same cane.
