Pot. Hoku Gem 'Freckles' HCC/AOS

Look who's blooming again! This is the second blooming since August. This spike is on a little side growth. The main part of the plant is also maturing a new growth and I won't be at all surprised if it blooms in the spring or earlier. The flowers start out kind of reddish and lighten up daily until they are a bright yellow. The freckles remain the same color throughout. I'll post an update when they are both yellow.

Beatiful blooms! They have lovely freckles. It must be fun to watch them gradually change colors. I like the initial reddish color.

I'm sorry to report that there is no scent....that my nose can detect anyway.

Thanks for all the nice comments. This appears to be a very easy plant to bloom. So far it has bloomed off of every new mature growth since I've had it.

This is definitely one of my favourites, Terri! If I remember correctly, mine does the colour in reverse -- starts out yellow and then turns reddish! Love it!

It wasn't named 'freckles' for nothing. I have a large plant and when they reach a certain size they are always in bloom.
