BLC Fort Sumter need a little ID info
Hey everyone,
I bought this from the local Botanic Gardens fall sale and I was wondering about the parent name (4947). I tried to google it with very little result.
Can anyone assist? This is what I got from the greenhouse guy at the sales table.
Blc. (Brassolaeliocattleya) Fort Sumter originally planted 3/23/98, repotted 11/20/00, 1/13/03, 9/2/04 & 10/3/08.
Bloomed 8/21/04 and 10/3/08.
4947 x BLC Mac Holmes "Newberry" AM/AOS
I don't have a photo of the bloom but it is a vibrant purple sepal and petal with a deep purple labellum

Rsc. Fort Sumpter = Sophrocattleya Quadroon x Rhynchosophrocattleya Oconee
Created by Carter & Holmes in 1982
Rsc. used to be Blc. before the taxonomists got bored.
This is a pretty complex hybrid containing 11 different species, the largest % being dowiana.
