Laelianthe Bowri-Albida 'Pink Lady' AM/AOS
This is yet another acquisition from Orchids by Hausermann. Guarianthe bowringiana x Laelia albida. This one has 9 spikes with about 51 flowers opened. The fragrance is, well, interesting.

I have always loved this hybrid and am so glad that Hausermann made it so widely available. When I lecture, I always cite this hybrid as the perfect first orchid but one that because of its nature will never be a contender for an award. Much like Ascofinetia hybrids which are great plants for hobbyists - including windowsills and under lights - but which don't have the "umph" for an award.
This would make a great hybrid with a Dialaelia (whatever it is called these days).

That is a beautiful specimen...full of beautiful blooms!
Well done Royal!
I was going to ask what you meant by "interesting" when you described the scent at teh beginning of your post. I never would have thought urine would be part of the detailed description.

You couldn't ask for a prettier center piece than that, Royal. She's stunning!
