Howard,
The new camera is a Canon EOS 40D, and I've been using a 17-40mm zoom lens with the ISO set to 100 (to broaden the depth of field for focus). I've also got the picture style set to landscape (to bring out deeper color saturation) and the RGB set to Adobe standard (just because). These last pics posted yesterday were all done with natural lighting, with the camera on a tripod shooting against a black felt background. My old camera is a Canon EOS 20D, so this is definitely an upgrade.
I also got a flash unit with a built in diffuser and a separate slave unit for back flash to cut down on sharp shadows that can sometimes occur when doing flash photography. Additionally I got a 100mm fixed aperture macro and a 10-22mm wide angle lens. I haven't done any experimentation with this last group of peripherals yet, but will post some pics when I get around to it, hopefully within the next week or so, although I will be away for half a week starting Friday. I’ll probably put a post in the photography section.
