Check Orchidwicz again. The plantis listed as a species Cattleya from the southeastern portion of Brazil. It has two AM awards one in 2006 and one in 2007. Named by Veitch in 1863. There is also a Cattleya Hybrida listed that is a hybrid made by crossing C. guttata x C loddigesi. They appear to have the same photo. It appears that it is a naturally occurring hybrid found in the wild ( See Carl L. Whitner's " Cattleyas and their Relatives". ) so it would appear it is a hybrid whether man made or by nature. No spelling with an Hi instead of Hy unless it is spelled differently in Spanish. That's it just checkedEnglish to Spanish dictionary. Hi is Spanish spelling.
