Blc George King 'Serendipity' AM/AOS
This has got to be pretty close to my favorite hybrid cattleya! The flowers are large, frilly and the color is indescribable.
The texture is thick and diamond dusted.
These are flowers from a division of the originally awarded plant and have a very heavy, sweet fragrance.
Thanks for looking!

This is such a lovely orchid...but I have an allergy problem with it's fragrance, for some reason. When I got mine (as a gift, in bloom), I took a big sniff...and couldn't breathe for a few days! Sniffle, sniffle
Now I just admire it without getting up close and personal.
Another beauty, Debs...job well done

Oh, Sue. That's heartbreaking. Do you have problems with other orchids or scents?

Nope! This is the only one that set off such a reaction
It's okay, though...the fragrance is strong enough that I can smell it from a distance which is good because this is such a beautiful floofer

I have one with a huge bud -- I can't wait for it to flower. 2 months ago it had a sheath, but nothing inside. This time- so far, so good!

Very nice flowers DebsC.
cb977. It's odd that only this cattleya should cause that reaction. Recent applications of fungicides set me off sneezing and sniffing. Could it be that the flower had been sprayed with something recently. I don't mean that you should stick your nose into another flower and risk another episode to test out my theory.
