BLC. Goldenmaxima x General Grant

Just snatched this one up! Dont really know anything about the parentage even after trying to look it up on the net. Not many hits at all! But loved the lip and the fragrance is out of this world! The bloom is almost gone by but I suspect the colors will be even brighter the next time it does bloom.

Not that I can pronounce it! I wonder if Blc GOldenmaxima is a cross between Goldenzelle and maxima.

Your flower looks like it has Goldenzelle in it.

Ok, the maxima in Goldenmaxima comes from Cattleya Horace ' Maxima'. This is a C. trianae hybrid. Makes sense when i look at the lip! I would think the other parent of glodenmaxima would be goldenzelle. Now if I could find out the parentage behind BLC. General Grant, then i would have this thing licked! LOL

The Goldenmaxima is (Blc. Franklin's Opinion x C. Horace 'Maxima'). General Grant is (Blc. Oconee x C. Horace 'Maxima'). Franklin's Opinion is a yellow with heavy substance whose parentage escapes me at the moment.

The hybrid is named for one of the main characters in Gabriel García Márquez' book "One Hundred Years of Solitude".
