Hwra. Lava Burst 'Punani'
I purchased this from ebay in January 2008. It stayed in bloom for almost 2 months...I love this little guy!!! It just has the one spike but there are 5 branches sprouting from the spike
Thanx for looking

I love this little guy too! The flowers last pretty long. I actually, just brought him to work with me today to enjoy since the flowers will probably be gone by the end of the week. Glad someone else is enjoying one too! My side branching turned out to be about 4 flowers per branch and since they opened later, I was able to cut the top of the spike down when the top flowers died off and I got a whole second blooming it seemed like with those side branches! I hope your does something similar.

Lucky you! I also purchased one from eBay last month (from a vendor who shall remain nameless); it arrived wilted, leaves shriveled, with almost no living roots. It's currently in the intensive care ward in sphag, but the prognosis is not looking good...

Sorry to hear that! I killed my first one (not the person who I got it from!). It was pretty sad. When I came across this one a few months back I scooped it up so fast there was a bit of a blur! Haha... Good luck and I hope he recovers.

Yours is beautiful, I love those little striking flowers
Stephen, Sorry to hear about you're orchid
Hang in there, you might be able to turn the lil guy around. Best wishes for the recovery

This is an all time favorite of mine. I need to find a replacement for the one my son killed.

Dana,
Your little guy is beautiful.
I was given a small division of one of these guys...just Hwra. Lava Burst, without the cultivar name you have...as a shade house warming gift about a year and a half ago. They sure do put on a show once they get growing!
