Default Jiminy Cricket

I've seen others post their pics of this Brassavola. So this isn't anything special but it is the first bloom for me and the way things have been going with my catts, I am happy to see this bloom

Very nice, Doc. The soft color is very pleasing. We celebrate all blooms. Congrats.

Wow what a delicious color. I love the frills from the digbyana. If you have time could you take a picture of the whole plant.
If it is fragrant I'll put it on my wish list.

I think it is called Rhynchobrassoleya now.
If so this should not be renamed in the future when they do the new Cattleya reshuffling.

Yes, I believe the name has been changed to protect the innocent But I personally can't be bothered with all this name change stuff. Presently, there is no fragrance and it is just past noon with some heat in the GH....I can check later.

Doc

Thanks for your reply.

As you know it might take a long time to develop the capacity to synthesize exquisite perfume and it may smell best at night

About the name changes. I agree with you about not paying attention to some of the sillier ones like calling some Brazilian Laelias Sophronitis which resulted in some loss of information and some of the unpronounceable names that even those of us used to Latin and Greek derivations find ludicrous. If all other species on the planet would be split in the same way and given new names with only minor differences, as orchid taxonomist are trying to do, it would result in a huge number of species. However, Biology professors could use it to torture Pre-Med students in the future.
