Default clear sap

Hi all, I noticed that one of my Cattleya is having a new spike and bud. That is giving off a clear sap on the end of the bud and a inch back on the spike. Is this a good thing or not? I'm thinking its going to attract bugs

A little love juice never hurt anyone. I say it's a sign of a happy orchid. It might attract a few bugs, but nothing to worry about IMHO.

It's fine. My catts do it all the time. Taste it, you will be amazed by the sweetness!

I can just imagine what the neighbors would think if they saw you slippin your Catts a little tongue! I have to say though, the sap is pretty tasty! People seem to ask about this phenomenon a lot. I always compare to when kids are growing new teeth. There's always a little blood that drips out, nothing to be worried about!
