That looks like a great example of an intermedia. I've never grown one, but have been paying more attention to them lately, searching for pictures on the internet to become more familiar with various cultivars. Looking here and there at pics of intermedias for sale thinking that maybe I'll buy one if I see one that makes a particularly strong impression.
There is an especially impressive picture of an especially expensive intermedia on Ebay. A semi-alba called 'Irrorata' Too expensive for me, but I keep going back to look at it. It's a Buy-it-now listing. $249.95 with two days to go. What do you think of it?

Another great picture....thank Wendy for showing us your lovely orchids. A person could base their entire collection on C. intermedia as many in Brazil do!

Thank you everyone! I love intermedia and have several different varieties. I'll post more pics as they bloom.
Anglo...that's a lot of money for a bare root, two bulb division. Besides that I don't find anything overly attractive about that specific flower. There are so many different intermedia varieties that I'm sure you can find something you like for a lot less than that. Just my opinion. Actually I'd really like to hear a judges' opinion on the ebay flower quality. (Phantasm, Little Frog???)

While not an AOS Judge - your plant shows much more fullness, clarity of color, flatness of form. It rates much higher in my opinion.

It's tough to judge a picture, but the color is quite green, and usually this species is white or pinkish shades.
I wonder if the color is accurate? It's not worth $250. in my opinion but it's an interesting flower. I would prefer fuller petals and sepals for an awardable plant.
It would much more fun to bloom a sib cross flask or compot and see all of the variation for similar money. You could buy mericlones of superior plants for less also.

Thank you very much Phantasm. I really enjoy hearing things like that. I try to go to our Toronto Judging Centre as much as my schedule will allow....I find both the people (Judges) and the work they do to be fascinating. Which Centre are you from?

Wendy,
I'm in the Pacific Northwest Judging Center which meets in Tacoma, Washington. We also have sub centers in Vancouver, BC and Salem, Oregon to cover our large geographical region. We cover Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, British Colombia, and Alberta.
As you can see, it's virtually impossible to individually cover all of the shows, but the judges are spread all over the map so we manage.....
