Cattleya Bob Betts finally flowering
This is currently the only cattleya hybrid that I have in my collection. It's an old standard; however, its beauty (in my humble opinion) hasn't diminished since it was first created many decades ago. My only complaint is that it's a large plant (it's approximately three feet in diameter with four growing leads). But with eight flowers and buds, that complaint is a small one. Like the C. mossiaes in my collection, this hybrid seems to like less light than my other cattleyas. One of the growths got a little too much sun, so I'll be a bit less ambitious with how much light I give it during the next growing season.

Well done, Steve. One of the best whites around, I think.

I have one
but it does not have flowers yet. I can hardly wait. Yes, you are correct, it is quite nice. I have Lc. Mary Elizabeth Bohn 'Royal Flare' that has 24 buds and blooms on it and only 4 that are buds. I love cattleyas!

I think you are right as it was used to create
Bob Betts, IIRC. Both are extremely nice plants.

Really nice white. I think these guys can tolerate pretty strong sun if introduced slowly.
