Thats gorgeous!!!!!! Thanks for sharing it with us!
I suppose this qualifies as a miniature orchid? Though I better ask first.

Thanks. I don't even know how to call that colour. It is not orange, but it is not red either. Perhaps, it is mix of orange and red.
It is mini. The flower is 3,7 cm across and it is big if to compare with the size of the whole plant. Anyway, the bulbs is a bit taller and the leaves are longer than cernua's bulbs and leaves.

I like to call that colour "Sunburnt Orange".
Not sure if it fits though.

The variety name, var. xanthocheila refers to the yellow lip. Xantho= yellow, cheila= lip.
The normal lip is the same color as the petals with yellow in the throat.
This is a very nice plant....wish I had one!

Yes, you are right. It has yellow lip. I got usual mantiqueira too, but it is not in bloom. You can order this plant if you can receive plants from Germany. If you are interested I will give you the link to the seller's farm.
