Default C. bowringiana

The beauty is from Central America and is popular here in Taiwan. It is a good parent to produce multiflora cattleyas such as C. Porcia and other numeous ones.

Thanks for the kind word!
It is an easy plant to grow and to bloom.
I also have a blue form of this species that is in spike now.

I don't have this one but do have the C. Porcia. The buds are out of the sheath so should open soon. I think the Porcia is more blue?

Hi Don, I also have the C. Porcia which has finished blooming last week. The color is like that of this species. But there are several clones with some color varieties. Maybe yours belongs to the deep color one.

Helen, it is right to call this one Guarianthe bowringiana. But I am still used to calling it the old name, Cattleya bowringiana.
