It's really beautiful Frank! I have a soft spot for purple/lavender flowers so I really like it I'm not familiar with this species, so just to know, what makes it difficult to grow?

I wonder why they called it the loyal Laelia?

Nice fidelensis, Frank! I also think it is not one of the easiest too. Genetic issues because all of the fidelensis we have today came from the auto fecundation of the single plant found in nature? Don't really know. The fact is that, apparently, it is difficult for this species to develop good root system. I tried mine in tree fern fiber, several mixes, mounted on hard wood slab, on the bench, hanging and nothing seemed to work well. I finally mounted it on a tree fern stick, put the stick inside a clay pot and filled with moss around. I think it is doing better now, hanging.

Beautiful flower. This one is one of those that I must have but haven't gotten yet. I even suggested it for the Mystery Project. I'll get it soon though. Congrats again !!!!
