C. aurea (yellow form)
I've been waiting on this one.....I've been told that C. dowiana won't bloom down here, so I guess this is the next best thing! I know they are now the same, I'm referring to the ivory one. It has another spike that is about to open, also.

don't want to be the joy-killer, but it does not look like C. aurea, nor like C. dowiana... It looks more like a hybrid...
but maybe I am wrong here

I was curious, too. I looked it up, and found a few pictures of the yellow ones. Most were very similar, and I found one that was almost exact. I know it doesn't look like the standard ivory one. I was told this was the only one that will bloom in this heat. Not saying that it couldn't be a hybrid, but I have found some yellow aureas that look like this one....anything's possible. I wish it was the ivory one, that's the one I'd really like to have!

Hi Jasen,
C. aurea or hybrid...I still think it's stunning!
I just got a C. dowiana var. aurea about a week ago, but it's got a couple years to go before it blooms. With your comment about these guys liking it a little cooler, I'll now make sure to get it in a suitable spot in the shade house.

Thanks Ikabaru,
My shade house here in Naples is 50%, so your commenst are definitely words of encouragement. They are appreciated indeed.
