Thanks. In Louisiana we have high humidity so that should not be a problem, along with daily misting or humidifier. I'll keep all up to date and take some pictures. It has not come in yet...hopefully soon. I plan on including some other chids on the same vine.

In my viv ctna:s are about the only catts that really grow well. Jamaica red has really strong root, and why not flowers Not as many flowers I would like to see, but it's a start
Broughtonia sanguinea grows very well on a wood mount. It is native to the Carribean area and is a twig epiphyte that grows in strong light, lots of water and warm temperatures.
To answer the other question, many of the cattleya alliance will do well mounted. The problem is that a lot of them get quite large, and you would need a lot of space to do it that way.
