Hey cute little flower, it's definitely an Slc in old terms but here's what Orchidwiz says it is now..........

Guarisophleya Madge Fordyce (Sophrocattleya Doris x Guarisophleya Jewel Box)

So it's a 'Gsl'.

Cute little flower, good growing.

Thanks David. I didn't know that it was a Potinara. Probably the the gal I bought it from, a member of the local orchid club, crossed it herself. Since Terri and I are considering joining, I am sure I'll see her again sometime. Maybe I can remember Potinara. No guarantees though.

No problem Carol....but you might want to wait (without holding your breath) on this one. It looks like the taxonomists are having fun again after seeing Bolero's post above I did a little additional research...are you ready?

Blc. Dinh Thuy Yen is now Rhynchosophrocattleya Dinh Thuy Yen = Cattleya × Rhyncholaelia × Sophronitis

Slc. Madge Fordyce is now Guarisophleya Madge Fordyce (as pointed out by Bolero) = Cattleya × Guarianthe × Sophronitis

When you mix Cattleya × Rhyncholaelia × Sophronitis x Guarianthe you get a Thwaitesara or abbreviated Thw.

So...after all that, you have an unregistered Thwaitesara! I dare you to say that three times quickly.

Those crazy taxonomists.
