Default Epc. Plicaboa 'Dancing Queen'

Here are a couple of photos of my Epc. Plicaboa 'Dancing Queen' (C. bowringiana x E. plicata), which just started blooming this past week.

This is the second time the plant has re-bloomed since I received it as a gift from a friend in April, 2007. The funny thing is that I never noticed how sweet its fragrance was until today... In essence, three spikes later... I figured this one out!

In any event, I thought I'd show you a pic of the whole plant, which is sitting in front of a 40" tall board...I didn't have enough black felt to cover the whole board, but it still gives you a good idea of how tall the spike gets. Also, I wanted to mention that it is very purple in color, which is something my camera was not able to fully pick up in the close-up shot. Enjoy!

David, that is super-lovely!!!

It's not so bad when they take up more vertical space than horizontal

Beautiful! I love Encyclia hybrids! Always wanted to have this in my collection, but never found it here. I can imagine the dark hue these flowers have!! Congrats, David!
