C. loddigesii var. alba
Hey Everyone,
I got a division of a friend's plant, C. loddigesii var. alba, and although it didn't look too well, I decided to see what I could do with it.
Well, here are the first blloms, which are slightly fragrant of sweet spice. Enjoy!

That's a beauty, David! These bifoliate whites are really something!
But, let me ask you, did you see your plant in flower before with your friend? If that was the case, was it in flower in the winter or in the summer? I'm asking because your plant looks like C. harrisoniana which blooms in the summer (while C. loddigesii in the winter). If it continues to bloom during the summer in the next years than you most likely have a very fine C. harrisoniana var. alba!!

Hey Mauro,
I never did see his mother plant in bloom, but your observation is well taken.
I will keep an eye on it over the next couple of growing seasons and see what it does. My C. harrisoniana did just finish blooming a short time back, and the flowers did have a very similar shape, although the column is much larger on this alba, and the lip is less frilly. I guess time will tell.
