Mauro, I don't see the picture of your C guatemalensis in this thread. I also looked in your photo album. I just acquired one and wondered what the colour might be.
If you could re-post the pic I would truly appreciate it.
Also, was there a change of name? thus Guarianthe? Can you please explain this? Thanks!
Helen

Hi Helen,
Yes, this primary hybrid is widely knwon as Cattleya Guatemalensis, but its parents, Cattleya skinneri and Cattleya aurantiaca, were transferred from Cattleya to Guarianthe and now the new name is Guarianthe Guatemalensis, if the cross is man made, or Guarianthe x guatemalensis if the plant is found in the wild.
Here are the photos:

Mauro, I hope you entered one of these pictures for our orchid calendar last year, because they sure are awesome! Great photographs. I love the bit of orange showing thru. I can't wait to see what colour mine will be. The label reads C. guatamalensis, and the orchid society members were saying it was a natural hybrid. I don't know how I would know for sure, because labels are not always correct and there was no little x between.
Thanks again for the info, much appreciated!
Helen

How large is your plant Mauro? I was told they can get very large, but was just wondering how large is "large"?
